Mrs. Katherine Clark
Katherine Yock, was born in Germany in March, 1824, and died May 12, 1919, aged 95 years.
She came to the United States at the age of 8 years. On December 13, 1850, she was united in marriage to Mr. Samuel Hall Clark. Mr. and Mrs. Clark passed 57 years together, then Mr. Clark died. Following his death she went to live with her granddaughter, Mrs. Marian Will of St. Louis, Mo., where she remained until the time of her death.
Aunt Katie, as she was called, was the mother of two children. Barbara Jane, who died in 1883, leaving four children, and Alvin, who died in infancy. She is survived by her grandchildren, who are Mrs. Marian E. Will of St. Louis, Mrs. K. S. Pierce of Eldora, Ia., Mrs. Jennie E. Bension of Spokane, Wash., and Mrs. E. F. Sayder of Jackson, Mich.
Mrs. Clark is well known by the old settlers of Elwood, where she resided for some time and where her husband and children were laid to rest. She was an attendant at the Presbyterian Church and tried to be useful to all about her. Finally a long and eventful life has come to an end.
Funeral services were held from Elwood M. E. church on Wednesday, May 14, at 3:30, conducted by Rev. J. J. Snyder. Interment was made in Elwood cemetery.
