Eugene Franklin Wilson, second son of Milton and Adaline Wilson, was born at Cambria, Niagara county, New York, on August 1, 1852, the second oldest of a family of ten children. He came with his parents to Butler county, Iowa, in 1857, when the county was a raw prairie. There he grew to manhood enduring the privations of a true pioneer. He engaged in farming for a number of years, later being a liveryman at Greene.
He was united in marriage with Rose Breeden of Maquoketa on June 16, 1886, in Cedar Rapids. They made their home in Greene until the year of 1900 when they came to Jackson county which has since been their home.
Two sons were born to this union, Frank, Jr., of Fulton, and Almon, at home. He is survived by his wife, two sons and two grandsons, Harlan and Max Wilson; two sisters, Mrs. Ida Grace, Mrs. Addie Merrick; two brothers, Peter and Ed Wilson, all in the vicinity of Greene, Iowa, and John Wilson of Grants Pass, Ore.
