Sabula Gazette, May 6, 1893.
On Thursday afternoon R. A. Schroeder received a dispatch from Eau Claire, Wis., informing him of the dangerous illness of his brother-in-law, Otto Petersen a gentleman formerly well known in this vicinity, and requesting the relatives to come at once. Later in the evening a second dispatch was received conveying the sad intelligence of Mr. Petersen’s death. Mr. Schroeder and Joe Petersen, boarded a passenger train for Eau Claire, and the remains will be brought back for interment in 7th inst. Nothing definite is known as to the cause of Mr. Petersen’s sudden death, but it is generally supposed to have been a stroke of apoplexy.
