MONMOUTH

Since our last letter to the Sentinel we are sorry to say that death has claimed three victims from our midst.

The first that passed away was "Grandpa" Gibson, aged 85 years. Mr. Gibson was one of our early settlers. His demise was caused by old age and a cancer on the face, with which he had been afflicted for a few months past. His death occurred last Tuesday morning the 4th inst., and he was laid to rest in the Monmouth cemetery the following day. He has several sons and daughters living here, besides a multitude of friends to mourn his demise. Peace to the ashes.
