Mrs. Ava Littlefield Dead

Word came from Perry, Ia., Monday advising relatives and friends here that Mrs. Ava Littlefield, formerly of Andrew and wife of the late Dr. L. L. Littlefield of that place, had passed away at the home of her brother, Frank Hunter, at Perry. Mrs. Littlefield suffered an attack of the influenza last winter, since which time she had been in poor health. A short time ago she contracted peritonitis and submitted to an operation last Sunday, but her condition was such that she was unable to withstand the shock and death followed the next morning.

Mrs. Littlefield was a lady of high character and refinement, a noble woman, devoted mother and whose many friends here deeply regret her untimely death. She is survived by one brother, Frank Hunter of Perry, one sister, Mrs. Dennison of Bellevue, and her two sons, Floyd of Des Moines and Ora with the colors. The last named son has just arrived home from service overseas and every effort was put forth to locate him but up to noon today no word could be received.

The remains reached this city this morning from Perry and were taken to Andrew where the funeral was held this afternoon from the Presbyterian church. She was laid to rest by the side of her late husband in the Andrew cemetery.
