Obituary

Delphine Johson Burleson, eldest daughter of G. W. Johnson, was born near Nashville, Iowa, August 17, 1862 and passed away at her home in this city at 11:45 o’clock Saturday night, April 24, 1920. She was united in marriage February 9, 1890, to Charles Burleson of Nashville, to which union three children were born, two of whom died in infancy. On account of her failing health, Mr. Burleson sold his farm at Nashville about five years ago and removed to this city which had since been their home. Mrs. Burleson was a devout member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church of this city and was fully fortified by this faith when death came. An earnest worker in the church, an ardent disciple of home and family, she has finished the course, she has fought a good fight and awaits the reward of the faithful.

Besides her bereaved husband, there are left to mourn, one son, George Raymond at home; her aged father, G. W. Johnson of Nashville, and one sister, Mrs. S. C. Lobdill of Spring Valley, Minnesota. The funeral was held this morning from Sacred Heart Catholic Church, Rev. J. P. Craney, officiating. Interment was in Sacred Heart Cemetery.
