Obituary
Florence E. Earle was born in Maquoketa, April 8, 1865, and died at her home here on Sunday evening, April 25, 1920. She attended our public schools, graduating with the class of 1885, after which she taught school and later attending business college at Janesville,Wisconsin. Completing her course she entered the employ of Judge Wheeler, afterwards entering the employ of the Swigart Publishing Company where she remained for a number of years. About twenty-five years ago she accepted a position in the post office which she retained until her final illness a short time ago. Very rarely is the efficiency shown in the postal service as Miss Earle attained having recently passed her fourth consecutive 100 per cent examination, and flattering compliments came from the department heads commending her splendid record.
Besides countless friends who mourn the loss of this grand woman are two sisters, Mrs. Virginia Mann and Mrs. Lena Simpson, both of this city, and one brother, George of Bellingham, Washington. The funeral will be held from the congregational church Wednesday afternoon, Rev. J. G. Morgan officiating. Interment will be at Mt. Hope Cemetery.
