November 9, 1900Geo. Franklin Scholl was born in Berks county, Penn., March 11, 1850, and departed this life, from acute pneumonia, Friday, Nov. 2, 1900, at the home of his father, three miles north of this city, at the age of 50 years 7 months and 21 days. His was a life of great suffering, having during its first year met with a sickness which superinduced conditions causing him to become a helpless invalid, from which he never recovered until his spirit was released by death. The survivors of the family are the father, James D. Scholl, two sisters and three brothers, viz.: John H., James L., Wm. A., Emma C. Kennedy and Adeline T. Brady., Ida M. having died in infancy some thirty years ago. The mother Barbara A., passed to the better world Aug. 20, 1899. Funeral services were held Sunday at 1:30 p.m. at the home, Rev. S. Shepherd officiating, his remarks being of great comfort to the mourning ones. The remains were laid to rest in the family lot in Mt. Hope cemetery.
