Sabula Gazette-

Sam Eby, an old time resident of this vicinity, died Wednesday noon at the home of his daughter in DeWitt. Mr. Eby was 88 years old and a veteran of Co. A, 24th Iowa Infantry, Civil War. The remains were brought to this city and funeral services held here Saturday from the residence of Mr. Eby’s sister-in-law, Mrs. Lucy Simpson.
