Pierce (Pete) Myatt

Funeral services for Pierce (Pete) Myatt, 50 of rural Maquoketa were held Monday, Feb. 24, at 1:30 p.m. at the Haylock-O’Hara Funeral Home, Maquoketa, with Father Alfred Burlingame, pastor of St. Mark’s Episcopal Church, officiating. Burial was in Mt. Hope Cemetery.

He died at his home Friday, Feb. 21.

Myatt was born Aug. 8, 1924 in Maquoketa to Howard H. and Madeline Ely Myatt. On March 20, 1950 he married Phyllis Hute in Maquoketa. He was a farmer, a member of the Knights of Pythias the Masonic Lodge, the Helion Lodge, the Odd fellows and the American Legion. He also served in World War Two.

Survivors include his wife, one daughter, Paula at home, and one brother, Walter, Maquoketa.

He was preceded in death by his parents and five brothers.
