Funeral services for Don R. Miller, 81 of Maquoketa, were held Monday, Jan. 20, at the Haylock-O’Hara Funeral Home with the Reverend Russell Fate of the United Church of Christ officiating. Burial was in Buck Horn Cemetery.
Miller died Saturday, Jan. 18, at the Jackson County Public Hospital.
He was born July 20, 1893 in Jackson County to Herschel and Mary Welch Miller. On Oct. 17, 1913 he married Hazel Schumacher in Maquoketa. A retired farmer, he was also a member of the Knights of Pythias.
He is survived by one son, Eldon, Galesburg; one brother, Stephen, Maquoketa; four grandchildren, and eight great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, wife, and one son.
