Services were held at 1 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 13, at Haylock O’Hara and Kedley Funeral Home for Thomas W. Goodwin, 41, of 227 S. Main, Maquoketa. Mr. Goodwin was found dead in his apartment at the Hurst Hotel Wednesday, Oct. 10. The Rev. Donald Crawford of First Assembly of God Church, Maquoketa, officiated and burial was in Mt. Hope Cemetery. Mr. Goodwin was born Aug. 25, 1943 in Iowa City to Robert E. and Dorothy M. McEvoy Goodwin. He served in the U. S. Army and for 16 years worked for Modern Upholstery in Maquoketa. He recently opened his own shop at 110 W. Monroe. He had a reputation as a fine wood craftsman and handler of antique furniture. He is survived by his parents of Muscatine; a sister, Mrs. Kenneth (Betty) Busch of Muscatine and a brother, Leonard, also of Muscatine. His grandparents preceded him in death.
