Opal Carr funeral will be Friday
Maquoketa- The funeral will be 10:30 a.m. Friday in Carson and Son Funeral and Cremation Services, Maquoketa, for Lynne "Opal" Carr, 90, of Maquoketa.

She died Tuesday in the Maquoketa Care Center. Elder Carole Kasowski of the Reorganized Church of Latter Day Saints in Maquoketa will officiate. Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home. Burial will be in Sutton Cemetery, rural Maquoketa.

She was born Oct. 2, 1909, in Faulkner, to George and Grace Finch Wagner. She marred Dillon O. Carr , Feb. 24, 1934, in Rock Island, Ill. He died June 12, 1987.

She was a 1927 graduate of Ackley High School and attended the University of Iowa, where she received a degree in physical education in 1931.

She taught school in Clarinda for a year and was principle with Zwingle High School for two years. She then became a homemaker.

Survivors include two daughters, Mrs. Patricia (Donald) Krantz and Mrs. Barbara (Allan) Watters, both of Maquoketa; two sons, Gerald and Darrald Carr, both of Maquoketa; eight grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by two brothers.
