September 1, 1950Mrs. Ida Jenkins Dies Saturday
Mrs. Ida Gertrude Jenkins, 65, died in Maquoketa Sunday, August 27, following a long illness.
Funeral service was held at 9 a.m. Wednesday in the Sacred Heart church. Burial was made in the Sacred Heart cemetery.
The former Ida Gertrude Elsner was born March 25, 1885, in Maquoketa, a daughter of Frank and Elizabeth Veach Elsner. She was married to William C. Jenkins in 1909 at Muscatine. She was a member of the Altar Guild and the Catholic Daughters of America.
Surviving are her husband; two sons, Stanley and Danny both of Maquoketa; a daughter Lucille Poole of Maquoketa; a brother, Joe Elsner, and three grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by a daughter, Ruth.
