Funeral Services for Accident Victim Were Held at Garryowen Last Friday

Funeral services for Daniel Sullivan, 69 years old, who died Wednesday evening as a result of injuries received while at work in his hay field, were held Friday morning at 9:30 o’clock at St. Aloysius church. Requiem high mass was sung by Rev. Father Loughnane, and burial was made in the adjoining cemetery.

The casket was carried by old friends of the deceased, John Riordan, Thomas Barnable, Jerry Anglin, Thos. and James Shanahan, John M. Penny, Michael Kennedy and Nick Toussaint.

Mr. Sullivan was a life-long resident of the community. On Oct. 6, 1903, he married Miss Bridget Deacon at Garryowen. Surviving are his widow and six children, Marie, Agnes, Beatrice, Margaret and John, at home, and Bernice at Clinton; one sister. Mrs. James Shanahan, and one brother, John.

He was a life-long member of the Catholic church and of St. Aloysius parish, and died comforted by the last rites of his religion. He was a member of the Holy Name society.

The accident which resulted fatally for Mr. Sullivan, took place when his team, which was hitched to a hay rake became frightened and ran away. He died at 6:45 Wednesday evening a few hours after the accident.
