Truman Yarolem

Truman H. Yarolem was born Oct. 27, 1919 in Monmouth to Frank and Lillian Brown Yarolem. On Jan. 8, 1945 he married Arlene Hoyne in Maquoketa. She preceded him in death on Aug. 29, 1983. He lived and farmed in the Monmouth area all his life.

He was a director of the Hickory Grove Cemetery Association.

Survivors include four daughters: Mrs. Maria Nims of Baldwin, Mrs. Timothy (Marjorie) Smith of Las Vegas, Nev., Mrs. Jim (Marcella) Nelson of Kansas City, Mo. And Margaret Yarolem of rural Maquoketa; one sister, Mrs. Milton (Barbara Fern) Ringen of Maquoketa; one brother, Russell of Maquoketa and eight grandchildren.

Services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Thursday, July 19, at Haylock O’Hara Kedley Funeral Home for Truman H. Yarolem, 64, of Route 1, Maquoketa. He was found dead in a field near his home Sunday afternoon, July 15. He died of natural causes.

The Rev. John Kramer of St. Peter’s Temple Hill Catholic Church will officiate and burial will be in Hickory Grove Cemetery.

Friends and relatives may call at the funeral home today, Wednesday, July 18 from 2 to 9 p.m.
