Aged Lady of Preston Dead

Funeral services for Amanda Juliana Maria Andresen Rodewald were held Sunday afternoon at 2 o’clock at St. John’s Lutheran church, the Rev. Mr. Hanff of Andrew officiating. She was the third child of Andrew and Maria Andresen, born November 6, 1854, in Detzboel, Germany. She was married May 10, 1871, to Frederick Rodewald at Clinton. To this union eight children were born, Bertha S. Krumviede, De Smet, S. D., Erwin J. Rodewald, Chicago, Arthur F. Rodewald, Howard, S. D., Fred C. Rodewald, Doyle, Calif., Henry A. Rodewald, Superior, Wis., Werner C. Rodewald, Clinton, Gordon E. Rodewald, Preston, and one baby girl who died in infancy. Others left to mourn are her husband, a brother, Julius E. Andresen of Chicago, a sister, Emma Cook, of Dallas, S. D. One brother and one sister preceded her in death. Mrs. Rodewald was a member of the Ladies Aid society of St. John’s Lutheran church for many years.
