August 3, 1917Mrs. Antone Guerdet passed out of this life at her home near St. Tresa’s July 20, 1917, at 3 p.m., after a short illness. Mrs. Guerdet’s maiden name was Anna Mueller, she was born near St. Tresa’s, Nov. 11, 1861, and spent her entire life in that neighborhood. Jan. 26, 1887, she was married to Mr. Antone Guerdet, who with five children survives, viz. Mrs. Mary Kemerer, Misses Tillie, Clementine and Irene and son Daniel, also her father, Mr. Mueller, five brothers and six sisters. Her brother, the late Dr. Mueller of Lamotte, preceded her in death a few years ago. Mrs. Guerdet was a lady of fine personality and her death is a sad loss in the family circle. Her funeral was held from her late home Tuesday morning to St. Tresa’s thence to Mt. Olivet at Key West, where interment was made beside her two children, who had gone before. Services were conducted by Rev. Mullen, assisted by Revs. O’Malley and Brady former pastors. Rev. Dress of the Dubuque college presided at the organ and sang a Requiem mass. Honorary pall bearers, were Mrs. Conlan, Mrs. Stafford, Mrs. McGullian and Mrs. Hogan of Lady Foresters, of which organization Mrs. Guerdet was a member. Active pall bearers were Mesrs. T. J. Lambe, John Mullen, Thos, Daugherty, Peter Kies, John Hoffman and Ruben Weber.
Mr. and Mrs. Frank Brown of Zwingle attended the funeral. Mrs. Brown is a sister of deceased and she and the Guerdet family have the sympathy of friends here.
