Francis H. Head Dies in Hospital

Francis H. Head, 76, of Maquoketa died Wednesday at the Jackson County Public hospital.

Funeral services will be held Friday at 2:00 p.m. in the Carson funeral home. The Rev. Laurence Nelson, pastor of the Bellevue Presbyterian church, will officiate. Burial will be made in the Bridgeport cemetery.

He was born Feb. 6, 1877, in Maquoketa, a son of William and Ellen McCard Head. On Feb. 7, 1901, he was married in Maquoketa to Millie Wright, who preceded him.

Surviving are three daughters, Mrs. Madge Hall of Dubuque, Mrs. Esther Ernst of Clinton and Mrs. Bessie Wacker of Baldwin; three sisters, Mrs. Cora Sanger, Mrs. Alice Reitter and Mrs. Blanche Bradley, all of Maquoketa; and 12 grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. Five sisters and a brother preceded him in death.
