SKINNER- At Baldwin, Iowa, Oct. 22, 1877, Joseph Skinner, aged 67 years and five days.
Mr. Skinner was born in Nansemond county, Va., Oct. 17, 1810. In 1812 his father removed with his family to Indiana, and in 1836 to Iowa. On the 1st inst. Mr. Skinner was baptized and united with the German Baptist Church.
He came to this county at an early day, and consequently endured all the inconveniences and hardshiips incident to a pioneer life. He brought up and educated quite a large family and has left them in comforatable circumstances.
He was a quiet and unobtrusive man, always mindful of the rights and feelings of others, conscientiously discharging every known duty, patient through all his afflictions and ever charitable to erring humanity. He lived an exemplary life, and died in the midst of numerous friends who had assembled to administer to his last wants, and witness his peaceful and happy departure.
