JOHANNA BECKER LOITZ
Johanna Sophia Becker was born in Germany, April 14, 1837. In 1858 whe was united in marriage to Freidrich Loitz, In 1881 they came to America and settled in Maquoketa, Iowa. Two years later Mr. Loitz died. Mrs. Loitz was the mother of eleven children, two of whom preceded her in death. The children surviving are Carl of Kenosha, Wisc.; Mrs. Carl (Sophie) Fischer, Mrs. Ernest (Fredericka) Harder Albert and Fred all of Maquoketa; Mrs. John (Lizzie) Hoeppner of Davenport; John of Spragueville; Mrs. Carl (Minnie) Hubbe of Calamus; and William of Davenport.
Services were held Wednesday, January 29, 1920, at 1:00p.m. at the home of Ernest Harder, 802 West Platt and 1:30 p.m. from the Reformed church with Rev. Moehlman of Spragueville in charge.
Burial is in Mt. Hope cemetery.
She died Monday, January 27, 1920 at 4:00 p.m. in the home of her daughter, Mrs. Ernest Harder.DEATH DATE: 27 Jan 1920
