Obituary
Cornelius Manwiller
Cornelius Manwiller, son of Joel and Caroline Manwiller, was born Dec. 2, 1855 in Berks county, PA, and grew to manhood in that vicinity, in 1877 he came to Iowa and Located in Jackson county. On Dec. 26, 1882 he was married to Melvina Hayward and to this union eight children were born, Mrs. Julia Hayes, Maquoketa; Mrs. Ella Stickley, Emeline; Mrs. Mary Larson, Elgin, Ill; Mrs. Esther Davis, Dundee, Ill; Mrs. Ruth Riggs, Cedar Rapids; John, of Oregon; Arthur, of Ames, and George, of Montana.
He was also survived by 29 grandchildren, and 13 great grandchildren. He was converted and united with the Free Methodist church at Iron Hill in November, 1885. He died on Monday, Oct. 19 at the home of his daughter, Mrs. Julia Hayes.
