Funeral Services at Bellevue Today for World War Veteran

BELLEVUE – Alfred Dieckman, 45, a World war veteran, died Saturday at 10:40 p.m. in the Hines Memorial hospital at Maywood, Ill., where he had been in a critical condition for several months. The body will be brought to his home here but no funeral arrangements have been made.

Alfred Dieckman was a son of the late Fred and Mrs. Emma Dieckman, and was born in Bellevue, Jan. 2, 1894. His widow, the former Miss Elnora Sommer and one son, Richard, survive. Other survivors include his mother, Mrs. Emma Dieckman, five brothers, William, Henry, John, George and August of Bellevue, and one sister, Mrs. W. E. Schaper of LaCrosse, Wis.

He was a member of St. John’s Lutheran church and the American Legion. He has been ill since September.
