January 11, 1890Obituary.
Little Johnnie Miller, son of Wm. and Mary Miller, aged ten years, five months and twenty-two days, died at the home of his parents near Monmouth, Iowa, January 2, 1890.
Johnnie was always a very weak child. His play was limited to light exercise only, as he was never able to join in the out-door sports of the other children. On this account he was in some respects a greater care than the ordinary child; but, for all that, he was the mother’s boy, and a brother. Thus his absence is felt by the sorrowing ones. His weak frame could not stand the work of the disease and after a sickness of only a few days he left this world, leaving the father and mother, and five brothers and sisters to mourn their loss.
On January 4, the funeral services were conducted by Rev. J. R. A. Hanner, pastor of the M. E. Church of Monmouth, at the residence of the father, and the remains were laid to rest in the cemetery at Buckhorn.
