Jackson Sentinel, January 22, 1880.

PERHAM, MAUD C., daughter of George and Emma Perham, of diphtheria, in Chicago, Sunday, January 18, 1880, aged 5 years, 3 months and 12 days.

Passed to the higher department of life, on the morning of Jan. 18th, 1880, from the home of her parents in Chicago, of diphtheria, little Maud C., only daughter of Geo. B. and Emma A. Perham, in the sixth year of her age.

Her remains were forwarded by express to this city for interment, where they were received by loving and sympathetic friends and by them carefully and tenderly laid to rest in their kindred element, with appropriate services, on the morning of the 20th; while the jewel, as we believe, has taken its merited position in an advanced class, where its unfoldment and development will be more rapid and of a higher order. This consoling impression now comes and with what cheer it is recognized by the bereaved parents.. “Although absent in the flesh, yet I am present with you in spirit.”

George Perham and family, of Chicago, are sorely afflicted with sickness at the present writing. The little daughter died a few days ago, and the first of the week the corpse was sent to the grandparents and other relatives of this city for burial. Diptheria is the affection.
Later- By telegram to parents the news of the death of little Freddie, the second child, on Wednesday afternoon, is received with sorrow.
