Sarah Streets, daughter of Tolbert and Rachel Streets, was born February 22, 1852, in Brandson township, Jackson county, Iowa, and departed this life Saturday April 9, 1927, at the age of 75 years. She passed away at the home of her grandson, Riford Hardin, near Emeline where she was visiting.
She was united in marriage to C. O. Hardin Nov. 7, 1871, who preceded her in death Jan. 27, 1935. This union was blessed with eight children, three having preceded her to the Great Beyond. Those who are left to mourn the loss of their noble and loving mother are Mrs. Albert Clark of Wyoming, Simon Hardin of Emeline, Clarence of Dubuque, Martin of Maquoketa and Mrs. Jessie Kennedy of Denver, Colo., also nineteen grandchildren and seventeen great-grandchildren and a host of friends.
She was converted about 27 years ago and united with the Free Methodist church.
Funeral services were held Tuesday at the Emeline church, Rev. C. M. Cunningham officiating. Burial was made in Hickory Grove cemetery.
