Mrs. Henry Smith, Sr., passed away at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Jacob Weber, in our city, Sunday evening. Mrs. Smith was one of the old settlers having lived here since the town was settled. Funeral services were held Wednesday afternoon at the Congregational church, Rev. P. M. France preaching a very able sermon. A large number of friends gathered to pay their last respects to one who held the respect and esteem of all. Interment in the Miles cemetery.
