James Ripperton Dies at Emeline

Last rites are pending at the Haylock O’Hara funeral home here for James Ripperton, 71, retired Emeline area farmer, who died at his home Monday.

Mr. Ripperton was born Apr. 26, 1886, near Maquoketa, a son of Mr. and Mrs. J. C. Ripperton. On Apr. 12, 1909, he married Nellie Miller; she died Nov. 15, 1938.

He is survived by his widow, the former Janice McGowan, whom he married July 31, 1940; two sons, John of Phoenix, Ariz., and Arthur F. of Moscow, Ia.; two brothers, Frank of Onslow and Lee of Davenport, and two grandchildren.
