Jackson Sentinel, Maquoketa, Iowa, October 15, 1891.

DIED

HARRISON-In this city, October 8th, Mr. Benj. Harrison, in the 87th year of his age. He was born in Hull, England, March 31st, 1804; was married to Miss Ann Anson, who died in 1846. He was married to Miss Sarah Berry October 11th, 1848. They came to this country in 1850, remained a short time in Welton, then came to Maquoketa, which has since been his home. He was upright and honest in all his dealings; a respected citizen beloved by all who knew him; a kind husband and loving father. Since his wife’s death two years and a half ago, he has been patiently waiting and his last words were “I’m going home.” His end was peace. He leaves four children to mourn his loss: Thos. B. Harrison of Chicago, who was unable on account of illness to be here, and Mrs. Rob’t Codling of this city, children by his first wife and Mr. W. H. Harrison and Mrs. Mary Whitfield, also of this city, children by his last wife. The funeral took place from the Congregational church Sunday afternoon and was largely attended and it will be observed as a strange coincidence that the funeral occurred on the same day of the month that his two marriages occurred. Rev. T. S. Oadams preached the funeral sermon.
