Funeral Services Held Sunday for Oswald U. Ahlers

FULTON – Funeral services for Oswald U. Ahlers were held in the Buchner chapel, Sunday afternoon at 2 o’clock, with Elder John Heide of the local Latter Day Saints church officiating. Burial was made in the Andrew cemetery. Pall bearers were six neighbors of the deceased, F. W. Fenton, Tom Moore, Marshall Carter, Edison Hogg, Delbert Watters and Louis Ostert.

Mrs. John Wantz presided at the organ and Junior Hicks sang, “In the Garden” and “Lead Kindly Light.”

Mr. Ahlers was born March 23, 1869, near Andrew, the son of John and Caroline Ahlers. He married Miss Lettie L. Rigby at Monticello on Dec. 28, 1898, and to this union two sons were born, John, living at Wallace, Idaho, and Loren, who preceded his father in death.

Mr. Ahlers passed away Thursday evening at 8 o’clock following a paralytic stroke, leaving his widow, son John, of Wallace, Idaho, and two sisters, Clara of Bellevue and Lotie of Miami, Florida.
