Levi Beaver Passes Away.
First of Family of Ten to Enter Into Eternal Rest.
Funeral from the Home Wednesday.

One of a family of ten children Levi Beaver is the first to answer final summons. Death came to relieve all earthly suffering Sunday afternoon.

Deceased was 74 years old and was born in Pennsylvania. At the age of eighteen the North and the South engaged in the great Civil war. Levi Beaver enlisted with the Northerners. He fought valiantly and during one of the great battles was taken prisoner by the enemy and was retained as such for a period of six months.

During the war, the parents of Mr. Beaver moved from Pennsylvania to Iowa and he likewise made Iowa his home at the close of the war.

Just forty-nine years ago he was united in marriage to Jane Webb and since their marriage they have lived constantly on the home farm just east of this city, two and one-half miles.

Mr. Beaver is survived by his wife and the following children: Mrs. John Taylor of this city; Mrs. Arch Miller of Des Moines; Mrs. Perry Arbuckle of Marion; Mrs. Irben Gibson of this city; and Williard and Harlan, also of Maquoketa.

Mr. Beaver is also survived by four brothers and five sisters; Mrs. Carrie Kimball of St. Paul, Minn.; Mrs. Mary Wendell of Morningside; Mrs. Sarah Winterringer of Woodbury county, Iowa; Miss Rachael Beaver of Chicago; Aaron and James of Woodbury county; Jake of Nebraska and Dan of this city.

Funeral service will be held from the country home Wednesday afternoon at 2 o’clock, interment to be made in Mt. Hope cemetery.
