Services to be Friday for Hiland C. Owen

Funeral services for Hiland C. Owen, 65, who was found dead in bed Wednesday morning, will be held at 2:30 p.m. Friday in the Carson-Balster funeral home with the Rev. H. D. Green officiating. Burial will be in Mt. Hope cemetery.

Hiland Owen, son of Elijah and Tillie Blackburn Owen, was born June 4, 1876, in Jackson county. He married Helena Schneckloth on July 14, 1908, in Maquoketa.

Two children preceded him in death.

Surviving are the widow, seven children, Harold, Mildred, Ralph, Camilla, Delbert, Louise and George; two brothers, Thomas and Lemuel and three sisters, Mrs. Perch Presten, Mrs. Elvin House and Mrs. Theo. Sargent.
