Funeral Services For Ben Lary, Sr., Held Saturday Afternoon.

Funeral services for Ben D. Lary, Sr., 84, who died Wednesday evening, were held at 2 p.m. Saturday, in the Carson-Balster funeral home with Rev. C. Edward Holyoke officiating. Burial was in Mt. Hope cemetery. Pall bearers were Max Heneke, Arthur Botkin, Gene Romer, Clarence Lubben, Charlie Miller and Ed Heneke.

Ben D. Lary was born September 20, 1857, in Bridgewater, Virginia. He married Annie E. Fitch on February 24, 1876, and she preceded him in death in 1927. Two sisters and brothers also preceded him in death.

Surviving are five children, Chester Lary of Chicago, Mrs. Herman Brown of Baldwin, Mrs. Fred McKennett of White River, S. D., and Alfred Lary and Mrs. Tom Rich of Maquoketa; one brother, Henry of Dunlap, Iowa; one sister, Mrs. Alice Northup of Colorado; 20 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren.
