Funeral services were held Monday for Mrs. John A. (Mary) Kloft who died Friday, January 15 at Finley Hospital in Dubuque. Services were held in St. Joseph’s Catholic Church in Bellevue, with burial in St. Joseph’s Cemetery. Gallagher Funeral Home in Bellevue was in charge of the arrangements.
Mary Dorothy Jacobs was born at Springbrook on June 6, 1899, the daughter of Matthew and Rosa Weis Jacobs. She married John A. Kloft on November 11, 1919. They farmed near Springbrook until their retirement in December of 1949.
She was a member of the Rosary Society of St. Joseph’s Church.
Surviving are her husband, John, two sons, Clarence of Bellevue and Donald of Dubuque; four daughters, Mrs. Donald (Rosina) Kieffer and Mrs. Alvin (Evelyn) Medinger of Bellevue, and Mrs. Raymond (Alma) Banowetz and Mrs. Norbert (Vera) Banowetz of Cedar Rapids; four sisters, Mrs. Agnes Ritter of Dresden, Kansas, Mrs. Raymond (Sedalia) Hager, Mrs. Joseph (Amelia) Hager and Mrs. Raymond (Julitta) Feltes, all of Bellevue; three brothers, Urban of Maquoketa, Joseph of Dubuque, and Raymond of Leoville, Kansas; 31 grandchildren and one great-granddaughter.
Mrs. Kloft was preceded in death by her parents, two sisters, and one son
