WIESE. – Henry Wiese was born in Shonberg, Province of Holtsein, Germany, September 22, 1846, and died at the Iowa Sanatorium at Maquoketa, May 3, 1910, at the age of 63 years, 7 months and 11 days. He was united in marriage in 1879 to Celia Finck and to this union were born three children, two daughters and one son William A., who with his mother remain to mourn the loss of a kind husband and father. The other two children having died in infancy. He also left relatives in Germany many years ago from whom he had not heard in recent years. He left his native and with his wife and came to America in 1881 and settled in Maquoketa township seven miles northeast of Maquoketa, where he has always made his home until death came to him. Deceased was a good neighbor and always had a good word for friends and acquaintances and will be sadly missed in the community where he lived.

Funeral services were held at the schoolhouse at Bridgeport at 2 o’clock Wednesday, May 4th, with interment in the cemetery there, Rev. Hast of the Lutheran church of Andrew officiating.
