JACKSON SENTINEL, March 5, 1896:

DIED.

WILBUR-Mrs. Anne Belden Wilbur died at the home of Geo. W. Trout, in Chicago, Sunday morning, March 1, 1896, aged 67 years.

For nearly forty years Mrs. Wilbur lived in Maquoketa. Here her three loving children were born, reared and prepared for the duties of life, under the watchful eyes, now closed on earthly light. And these children were at the bedside to minister tenderly until the loving heart ceased to throb. Mrs. Wilbur was a superior woman in mind, in intelligence, in goodness, and the community will miss her more than they now can estimate. She possessed many qualities of a leader, and her influences widely felt and always for good. She was “Aunt Anne” to a multitude of children who are sincerely sorry they can never more enjoy her sunny smile, or hear her instructive words. A noble woman, a loving mother, a trusted friend, a useful worker in society has been called to her reward. And the reward will be bounteous.

The funeral took place from the Congregational Church, Monday afternoon, and the remains were laid to rest in Mt. Hope Cemetery.
