Anna Loitz was born Dec. 24, 1908 in Jackson County, the daughter of Albert and Mary Schocker Loitz. She was married to Howard Beck in Maquoketa on April 15, 1941.

Surviving is her husband, Howard. She was preceded in death by her parents.

DEATH DATE: June 9, 1969
SOURCE: Private collection of newspaper clippings.

ADDITIONAL NOTE:
Anna Clara was born to Henry Schocker and Unknown Thill Schocker. The mother died when Anna was one month old. Henry gave Anna to his sister Mary and her husband, Albert Loitz to raise as they had no children. It is unclear as to whether or not she was actually adopted. However, she did know that she was a Schocker and inherited a small sum of money on the death of her biological father. She certainly viewed Albert and Mary Loitz as her parents. Anna's hobby was collecting newspaper clippings and making scrapbooks of the clippings. Many of the obituaries entered by this writer were from scrapbooks kept by Anna.
