Joseph Steffen, a form resident of Higginsport neighborhood was called out of this life at Mercy hospital last Tuesday afternoon, at two o’clock, March 1st, 1921, aged 47 years. Mr. Steffen had been ill for several weeks of ulcers of the stomach. He sold his farm a year ago, and retired and has made his home in Dubuque. He spent some time last summer with his sister in Wyoming. He is survived by his mother, four sisters and two brothers. His funeral was held Friday from his late residence, to Sacred Heart church, thence to Mt. Calvary cemetery.
