DIED – Mrs. Jane Watrous, daughter of Walter and Eunice (Mott) Watrous, was born in Indiana, Feb. 4th, 1832. She came to Iowa with her parents in 1852. She was united in marriage with Albert Gee, August, 26, 1854., in South Fork township, Jackson county, where she spent nearly all of her life. She united with the Christian church in 1862 and has been a true and devout Christian, a good mother, a good wife and a good neighbor. She had been in poor health for some time, and on Wednesday, Jan. 29th breathed her last, surrounded by her husband and children, at her home in the first ward of this city. There are left to mourn the departure of this good lady, her aged husband, four daughters, Mrs. Ida Edwards of Marion, Montana, Mrs. Flora Street, now at the home of her parents, Mrs. Anna Rowling of Calnme, S. Dak., and Mrs. Belle Edwards of Monmouth, Iowa, and an adopted son, Fred Gee, of Clinton; also two brothers, James and Henry C. and one sister, Mrs. Phoebe Ward of Montana. The funeral was held at the house Friday, Jan. 31st, with interment at Mt. Hope cemetery, Rev. Keister of the M. E. church officiating.
