NICHOLAS KOOS RITE, BURIAL HELD, LAMOTTE

LaMotte, Mar. 1 – Nicholas Koos, 68, prominent LaMotte farmer died Monday at Mercy hospital in Dubuque after an illness of about two months.

Last rites were held at 10 a.m. Thursday in Holy Rosary Catholic church here. The Rev. A. J. Schmitz pastor, officiated and interment was made in the church cemetery.

Mr. Koos was born in LaMotte Aug. 30, 1887, a son of the late Peter and Margaret Bank Koos. A life-long resident of the LaMotte community, he was a farmer. He was a member of Hoy Rosary church and the Holy Name society. On Sept. 21, 1909, he was married to Margaret Hingtgen. She died Mar. 29, 1929.

Surviving are three daughters, Coletta, at home, Mrs. Louis (Mary) Tranel of East Dubuque, Ill., and Mrs. Joseph (Marcella) Hartung of Hazel Green, Wisc.; four sons, Lawrence of Maquoketa, Nicholas of Morris, Minn., Alvin of Bellevue and Ervin of Lamotte;
