ROY MOWERS DIES; RITES HERE TODAY

Last rites for Roy C. Mowers, 69, who died Wednesday in the home of a daughter in Clinton, will be held Friday at 1:30 p.m. in the Carson funeral home. The Rev. Bruce S. Dean, pastor of the First Congregational church, will officiate and burial will be made in Mt. Hope cemetery.

A life-long Maquoketan, Mr. Mowers was a retired electrician. He had been in ill health for a year. A son of the late Charles and Emma Ismon Mowers, he was born in Maquoketa on Jan. 10, 1887. He was married to Maude Langridge in Maquoketa on June 5, 1907. She survives him.

In addition to his widow, he is survived by two daughters, Mrs. Maxine Wimer of Clinton and Mrs. Helen Hildebrand of Charlotte, Ia.; one son, Albert Mowers of Springfield, Ill.; two brothers, Lou of Tucson, Ariz., and Ben of Killeen, Tex.; four sisters, Mrs. Ola Wyrick of Deer Lodge, Mont., Mrs. Eva McCord of Davenport, Mrs. Ada Smith of Killeen and Mrs. Eula Fink of Clinton; and one grandchild. His parents and two sisters preceded him in death.
