MRS. L. BLAKE SERVICES HELD HERE THURSDAY

Funeral services for Mrs. Lee Blake, 60, who died Monday afternoon in the Jackson County Public hospital following a lingering illness, were held Thursday at 2 p.m. in the Haylock O’Hara funeral home. The Rev. Alvern Kinrade, pastor of the First Baptist church, officiated and interment was made in Mt. Hope cemetery.

As Wilma Edna, Mrs. Blake was born June 8, 1895, in Jackson county, a daughter of the late Thomas and Edna Davenport Owen. On Dec. 1, 1915, she was married to Charles Reynolds, who died in 1923. She married R. Lee Blake on June 16, 1925. He survives.

Mrs. Blake was a member of the Baptist church, the Mystic chapter of the Order of Eastern Star and the Timber City American Legion auxiliary, the latter of which she was a past president.

In addition to her husband, she is survived by two daughters, Mrs. Harlan (Margaret) Evers and Mrs. LeRoy (Mildred) Fisher, both of Maquoketa; two sons, Charles O. Reynolds of Maquoketa and Roger Reynolds of Davenport; two brothers, Gerald Owen of Shady Cove, Ore., and Paul Owen, in the U. S. armed forces; four sisters, Mrs. Pearl (Edith) Vipond of Pekin, Ill., Mrs. Ira (Gertrude) Wing of Maquoketa, Mrs. Chris (Winnifred) Nasses of Peoria, Ill., and Mrs. John (Leila) Newcomb of East Peoria, Ill.; and four grandchildren. Her first husband, her parents and one brother preceded her in death.
