LAWRENCE.

Thomas H. Lawrence was born Clinton county, Ohio, July 6, 1844 and died at Maquoketa Iowa, Oct. 21, 1912 aged 66 years, 3 months and 25 days. When but a boy he came to Galena, Ill., where he spent the early part of his life. Here he married Miss Mary Eustice who has passed on before him to the better land. He spent about twenty-five years of his life in South Dakota, going from there to California. About nine years ago he returned from California to Delmar, Iowa, where he lived with his sister, Mrs. Estey, until last March when he came with her to Maquoketa where he died. He was a member of the G.A.R Post, 96th Illinois Regiment.

While at Worthington, South Dakota, he united with the Methodist church and became a faithful worker especially in the Sunday school. He leaves to mourn their loss three sisters, Mrs. E. R. Gain, Mrs. C. B. Estey, both of Maquoketa, Iowa, and Mrs. E. C. Dawson, of Jackson, Tenn., also one brother G. W. Lawrence of Chicago, Ill. Funeral services held at the home of Mrs. E. R. Gain, Sunday at 2:00 p.m. conducted by Rev. B B. Keister.
