Another Sad Death.

Mrs. Frank Kearney died at her home seven and a half miles northeast of DeWitt, on Wednesday, February 26, 1908, from pneumonia following the birth of a child after a brave struggle for her life of five weeks duration. The loved remains were brought to the home of her parents Mr. and Mrs. Patrick Kane, in this city, on Friday, and on Saturday last were laid to rest in the Catholic cemetery, Rev. Father Bowen celebrating high requiem Mass in Sacred Heart church giving an excellent sermon upon the many virtues of the deceased and the consolation of her religion - a very large concourse of people attending.

Elizabeth Kane was born in this city on Dec. 26, 1878. Here she grew to womanhood beloved by all who knew her. She developed a beautiful character and was a popular school teacher for several years, before assuming the higher responsibilities of wifehood, marrying Mr. Frank Kearney of DeWitt, on May 9, 1905 in this city, a very worthy young man who survives in deep sorrow. Recently a child was born to them but it did long not survive the ordeal of birth and later the mother’s life was sacrificed upon the altar of maternity. The deepest sympathy is felt by all for the bereaved relatives and stricken husband.
