Allen Hankemeier

Allen E. Hankemeier, 39, of Maquoketa, died at his home on Tuesday afternoon, Aug. 24, 1993.

Funeral services were held Friday, Aug. 27 at 10:30 a.m. at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Maquoketa with the Rev. William McLaughlin officiating. Burial was in Andrew Cemetery, Andrew.

Visitation was Thursday, Aug. 26 from 3 to 8 p.m. at Haylock-O’Hara & Lahey Funeral Home in Maquoketa where a 7:30 p.m. vigil service was held.

Mr. Hankemeier was born Sept. 8, 1953 in Maquoketa so Albert and Theresa Elsner Hankemeier.

He worked in building construction and was currently employed with Eastern Iowa Components in Maquoketa. He was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church, Maquoketa.

Survivors include two daughters, Ginger and Amy Hankemeier, at home; his parents of Maquoketa; three sisters, Judy Hankemeier of Davenport, Diane (Mrs. Jim) Haylock of Maquoketa and Jean Ralston of Oxford Junction; and three brothers, Roger Hankemeier of Iowa City, Dennis Hankemeier of Bernard and Richard Hankemeier of San Diego, Calif.

He was preceded in death by his grandparents.

Memorials may be given to Samaritan Hospice.
