A Brother of Levi Keck Passes Away.

George D. Keck died at his home at Leech’s Corners, Sunday, May 19, at the advanced age of 86 years, 11 months and 1 day. He had been a faithful member of the M. E. Church since the age of 19 years, and a class leader in that church for over 60 years. He had been class leader in the M. E. church of Greenville for a number of years, and was class leader of the M. E. church at Leech’s Corners when he died, but was not able to lead class for some time back on account of poor health, which fact grieved him. He was married to Miss Mary Jane Law, February 21, 1850. They moved from Greenville to Leech’s Corners in 1865, where he spent the remainder of his life. He was a highly respected citizen, a good neighbor and a loving father. He is survived by his wife and one son, Sylvester H., and three grandchildren. The youngest grand daughter they raised as their own. Also one brother, Levi Keck of Maquoketa, Iowa, and one sister, Leah Ann Keck of West Salem. He was ready to go when his Master called him to the other shore. His dying words were “Peace, Joy, Happiness.”

The funeral was held Tuesday afternoon from his home and the remains were laid to rest in the Stevenson cemetery. -Shenandoah Valley News
