Death of Mrs. W. P. Dunlap.

This community is deeply grieved to learn of the death of Mrs. W. P. Dunlap which occurred Sunday evening in a hospital at Norfolk, Virginia. About three weeks ago Mr. and Mrs. Dunlap departed on a trip to the east to visit the scenes of their childhood and the place of their birth on the soil of old Virginia. Upon their way thither, Mrs. Dunlap was taken ill and the journey started upon with such hopeful anticipations of joy has resulted, as the plans of man so often do a failure, disappointment and sorrow. She was taken to a hospital where all that could be done for her was done but she grew steadily worse until death ended all.

Adelia L. Bentley was born in Virginia, May 16, 1840. With her parents she came to Jackson county, Iowa, in 1841 where she has since resided. She was married to Wm P. Dunlap in July 1862. Two children survive this union. They are George W. Dunlap, county recorder and Mrs. O. McCaffrey. Together Mr. and Mrs. Dunlap dwelt upon a fine farm southwest of this city until last spring when they moved to town, retiring from the activities of farm life. Deceased was a good woman respected by all who knew her.

The remains are expected to arrive here on the C. & N. W. tomorrow evening.
