Carl Frederick C. Dubert was born in Germany, April 12, 1851 and died at his home near Fulton, Iowa February 11, 1908, being fifty-six years and ten months old at the time of his death.

He was married to Caroline Staub, October 22, 1877 and came the same month to America and settled near Galena Illinois. They moved to a farm near Fulton, Iowa in March 1884 where they continued to reside. Mr. Dubert leaves to mourn, his wife, five sons, Fred near Mandan, North Dakota, Heyman at Wall Lake Iowa, Charlie, Willie and Louis at home, two daughters, Meda Nabb of Preston Iowa and Ida Said of Glenham, South Dakota, one sister Mrs. Leopold Seigel of Fulton, Iowa and eleven grandchildren, besides many friends. He belonged to the Lutheran church until he united with the Baptist church twenty years ago and continued a faithful member until the time of his death. During his illness of more than fourteen months he was a patient sufferer tenderly cared for by his loved ones who did all in their power to prolong life but without avail.

Funeral services were held at the church two miles west of the home at 2:00 o’clock Feb. 12 and his body laid to rest by the side of his father in the near by cemetery. Rev. A. T. Foster conducted the service.
