Maquoketa Record, June 25, 1907:

Nicholas Watry one of the prominent farmers of Tetes des Morts Township, passed away Tuesday, June 11, aged 73 years, of dropsy. Deceased was a native of Luxemburg. The funeral was held Thursday morning and conducted by Rev. Daniel Dietz. Interment was in the Lutheran Cemetery at St. Donatus.
