Mrs. Lovina Moulton, Former Maquoketan, Dies In Seattle, Wash.
Funeral service was held Monday June 4, at the Harrison Funeral Home for Mrs. Lovina Moulton of Seattle, Wash., Rev. C. Edward Holyoke officiating. Burial was in Mt. Hope Cemetery.
Lovina M. Coleman was born in Ontario, Canada, Jan 22, 1852. At the age of 16 she came to Maquoketa, Iowa, where she spent most of her life.
Jan. 31, 1869, she was united in marriage with Thomas J. Moulton. God blessed this union with six children of whom John died in 1893. After more than 51 years on life's road together Mr. Moulton went on in 1920, leaving her to travel alone. During the last 20 years much of her time has been spent with her daughter Lulu in Seattle, Wash.
Hers has been a very active life and she has been blessed with health and vigor, even in her advanced years. Several months ago she was taken ill, since which time she has gradually failed. She advanced to her reward Tuesday, May 29, 1945. Her age 93 years, four months, and seven days.
She is survived by three daughters and two sons, Mrs. Ida Seeley of Washington, D.C., Dr. Horace P. Moulton, of Petersburg, Ill., Mark M. Moulton of Kennewich, Wash., Miss Lulu Moulton of Seattle, Wash., Mrs. Verna Spencer of Iowa City, Iowa, one brother, Horace Coleman of Ontario, Canada, nine grandchildren, one of whom, Dr. Kreigh Moulton is in service in Germany, and 17 great-grandchildren.
She was long a member of Maple Leaf Chapter 175, Order of Eastern Star, having taken the degrees April 17, 1912. She was an active, earnest and faithful member of the Maquoketa Reformed Church. With her husband she united with the church Feb. 7, 1909.
